Inventory updates and Roadwork
At this point it is obvious but the website is going through some pretty major upgrades. Because it is such a large upgrade, expect things to look pretty crazy and you may not be able to find things. Will be doing our best to make it as usable as possible.
None of these changes above will affect the Retail and Wholesale stores and have two new beans for your consideration.
Peru Ucayali River 2022 - ORGANIC. First and foremost, this Ucayali is a different lot than we have had for the last 2 years and it is DIFFERENT. Although still the 2022, this one is after the co-op got their official Organic Certification. The aroma has a tart note of dried dates and unmistakable cinnamon. And for once, the taste that comes right out of the gate matches the aroma with cinnamon in spades.
Tanzania Direct Trade Kokoa Kamili Cooperative, Organic 2024 The chocolate has warm notes clean sugar, caramel, and a balanced tropical acidity. Soft cashew, light raisin and a silkiness are the overall impression.
In addition, a bean to bar maker has reached out to me to find a home for Guatemalan Cahabon. There is about half a ton. Please reach out to me directly if you have an interest. It is the same bean we are offering.
In celebration summer (and the heat) I’m taking inspiration for this month’s Kit of the Month with Smores Chocolate. More specifically, someone asked me for chocolate so they could make smores while they were camping. I’m not sure if you have ever tried to made smores from ‘good’ chocolate but the first (and 2nd) time I tried it, it missed the mark. I just didn’t want to melt and flow and although a good chocolate, didn’t take me back to my childhood. I solve things. It’s what I do, so I came up a recipe that would give that yummy, sweet, melty chocolate goodness of smores around the campfire. It’s also pretty damn nice just to eat on its own. Indulge a little. You deserve it.
That’s all. Back to website renovation.
